NCTE

This may sound bad..but even though I know what the NCTE stands for, I had never really looked into the organization. This afternoon, I took sometime to look through their website, and I found some really interesting information! They have all sorts of resources, from lesson plans to professional development. It's definitely worth checking out.

  1. Brandy,

I highly encourage you to join. It's nice that there is a student rate too. Plus they have many journals. I highly suggest English Journal, because it's so practical. Once you are a member you can easily access the online version of back issues. I have found value in English Journal both as a student and as a teacher.

But you are right, there is so much on the site that one could easily spend a great deal of time there. It's quite inspiring. And you have probably heard me talk of the conferences. If you can afford to go to one in the future (or if your school can afford to send you) it's well worth it.

    1. I subscribe to ALAN, the young adult literature journal, and I love it! It always has such interesting articles and book suggestions that I would totally use with my students.
